We’re only doing team avatar+Tenzin and Lin because there are a lot of characters in this show and these 6 shine as the main characters. If there are any other characters you would like to see sorted, please let us know!

Korra: Gryffindor

Korra is an incredibly headstrong, act-first, speak-later person. Unlike Aang, who was usually cautious before rushing into a problem, Korra tends to rush in headfirst without thinking. While she usually has good intentions, she doesn’t always wait until she has all of the information, which can lead to issues. She also has a love for glory, what with pro-bending, and saving people, and all. Though reckless from time to time, Korra is notably brave throughout the series, whether it’s taking on people who could take away her bending, spirits, or other benders. She is a true Gryffindor!

Asami: Ravenclaw

Asami is so intelligent and smart! This woman can kick your ass, fix your car, and understand interpersonal relationships. She has the smarts to run a company by herself, and to hold her own without the bending that a lot of her friends possess. She’s also quite accepting, as we see with the way she warms up to Korra and treats the others on the team kindly.On top of that, in her letter to Korra we see a skill with a pen. Though not defining for a Ravenclaw, having a way with words is still an important, notable skill to have. Truly, no better house fits Asami than Ravenclaw!

Bolin: Slytherin/Hufflepuff

(We had a little trouble with him)

Slytherin: He’s ambitious for certain. Bolin has no problem forsaking other goals to gain his end result. The lad does have a desire to feel powerful. He wants win when it comes to pro-bending, and truly aspires to become well-known and well-liked (see also: the entire movie star subplot.) Slytherin does seem to be rather fitting for him.

Hufflepuff: He cares for his brother even if it doesn’t always come off in that fashion. Bolin truly does try to be kind to most people that he meets, and it shown to be friendly to almost everyone. He’s kind to Korra even when Asami is still a bit icy to her in the beginning, and he’s the one who’s excited about meeting their family in Book 3 (?), whereas Mako is very grumpy and awkward. He’s also shown to be very loyal, standing up for Korra even when others start to look down upon the avatar. His loyalty also causes him a lot of conflict as he tries to figure out which people he wants to help the most. I feel like this is truly a problem that a Hufflepuff would have. Because of his kindness and loyalty, Bolin could also be a Hufflepuff!

Mako: Hufflepuff

Mako is responsible, fair, calculated, loyal to the people he cares about, and hard working. A strong argument can be made for Hufflepuff, as he does have a strong urge to keep things fair for everyone, even at a detriment to himself. Mako is willing to sacrifice his own dreams for his brother’s happiness. He attempts to protect others when information might hurt them. He’s also incredibly dedicated to his job as a police officer, working hard to solve cases an move up in the ranks. This does come as a little bit of a fault, as he gets into a slight spat with Korra about it, but does all work out in the end. For his loyalty and hard work, Mako has to be a Hufflepuff!

Lin: Slytherin

Lin is hard working, driven, and hiding a lot of pain. A large part of her character is hiding her past with her family and trying to forge her own path. Lin is very self-oriented, and doesn’t truly try to connect with others if she knows that is might hinder her or cause her pain. She’s determined and strong, and won’t let anything get in her way. Lin must be a Slytherin!

Tenzin: Ravenclaw

Tenzin is quite level-headed and calm when compared to the other characters, instantly ruling out Gryffindor. He acts as a mentor for Korra, teaching her the ways of airbending and acting a bit as a fatherly figure. Tenzin is wise beyond his years, and usually tends to think things through and stay calm in the face of danger. While not necessarily creative, Tenzin does fight to bring back the airbending nomads, an original, individualistic group of people in their own right. Tenzin is definitely a Ravenclaw.
